Are you looking for an experienced, compassionate tutor who understands the human side of learning as well as the academic side of it? Is someone in your family struggling to learn concepts and/or applications due to teaching that doesn't match their learning style, and a personalized approach would help? I am a certified teacher in New York State, as well as a teacher trainer. My experience includes tutoring children, including those with learning differences, and young adults for around ten years. My students consistently make progress and succeed measurably with my help. My location is in upper Westchester County, but I can travel to you or to another meeting point. I offer online tutoring as well.

Rates for individual tutoring are as follows:*


Elementary level subjects: $50/hr
Middle/high school subjects: $60
SAT Prep: $65

Travel cost is IRS mileage rate (currently 55.5¢ per mile) plus 25¢ per minute of round-trip travel. Amounts under $5.00 will not be charged, so if you can meet at the Hendrick Hudson Library in Montrose, you can save travel costs that way.

Tutoring is also available online or in my home, if you wish to save travel costs.

There is a $10/hour discount for online tutoring.

*Effective September 2012, new tutoring rates will be in effect. They are:
Elementary subjects: $55/hour
Middle school (grades 6-8) subjects: $60/hour
High school subjects and SAT tutoring: $65/hour
Two to four children in a group will be $65 per hour. Additional students will remain $15 per student.


Cancellation Policy:

I request notice of vacation or absence at least two weeks in advance. If I need to cancel a session, I will make every effort to reschedule it at least three days in advance, and I request that my clients do the same. If this isn’t possible due to illness or emergency, the client should make every effort to reschedule another session to keep the number of sessions constant.

 Any cancellation without rescheduling, other than due to an emergency, that happens within three days will be charged half the tutoring fees, minus any travel fees. A same-day cancellation will be charged the full hourly fee. Exceptions can be made for urgent situations at my discretion.
