About Me
Biography

In 2005, I started teaching Singapore Math; since that time, I have taught and/or tutored every level of Singapore Math from kindergarten through seventh grade. I also train teachers around the country and offer parent workshops in this method. Parents regularly approach me to request private tutoring or special programs like math parties.
Another of my passions is creative writing. In 2010, my students and I published an anthology of their stories, The Sun Shines on the Golden Dragon and the Mysterious Wizard, But Not on the Fat Smelly Alien. At the same time, I also published my first children’s book, Butterfly from the Sky. Both books were written during National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). I was one of the first teachers to implement NaNoWriMo’s Young Writers Program, and I’m currently working to develop teacher training with the NaNoWriMo office.
Prior to teaching, I worked as a network manager at MIT. This experience allows me to bring my understanding and enjoyment of technology to the classroom and to other teachers.
